Never ask yourself "is this really love? Ever again...

There is no such thing as an *emotion* or *feeling* called “love”. Those feelings people call “love” are, in reality, things like “infatuation” or “lust” or even just “like”.

Real love is a verb. Real love can be measured. Real love is the action and level of “contribution” one invests in another.

We need never, therefore, be confused about whether someone really loves us or not, or if our love for another is truly genuine.

It’s simple: what is in this for them? What is in this for you?

If you don’t wish to invest blood sweat and tears of contribution to the other, and vice versa, it is not love, but temporary emotion that is as changeable and as the day to day weather and only will last as long as a season.

Avoid yourself a lot of pain.
Don’t be blinded by emotion

I am so sorry I have let the male species destroy me. I know there are good men out there but for whatever reason, lack of self esteem or whatever, I have, since birth, been subject to men who have slowly worked inadvertently to destroy me.

I feel like I am losing my mind :(

“I believe that suffering is part of the narrative, and that nothing really good gets built when everything’s easy. I believe that loss and emptiness and confusion often give way to new fullness and wisdom.” —Shauna Niequist, Bittersweet (via thresca)

I hope this is true
